ASSEMBLY REQUIRED

Who are we?

Assembly Required is a FIRST LEGO League robotics team, based out of the Edison and Ford Winter Estates in Fort Myers, Florida. As a community team of 6th-9th graders from six schools in two counties, we want to inspire and educate people about robotics. Competing at all levels, we had an amazing season last year--won our Regional Championship, earned top Innovation Project in the State, and earned the coveted bid to the FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas, to compete with the top 108 teams from over 40 countries.

This year, we welcomed five new members and were just getting started when Hurricane Ian devastated our area and sent the river surging up into the Edison Ford Estates, flooding our ground-level garage practice space. After losing over a month of access, we came together and rallied to win our Championship, AGAIN! We will return to the World Robotics Festival, and are eager to compete, meet other teams, share, and learn. Assembly Required began in 2018, and since then, we have grown and improved a lot, building on our successes and training up our new team members to develop our team's potential.

We even started a new team this year, Batteries Included, and they are blazing through the season, winning awards at the Qualifier and Regional levels, preparing to compete alongside us at our upcoming State Championship!

See you at Worlds!

Assembly Required has, AGAIN, won the West Florida Regional Championship and will be heading to the 2023 FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas, to compete with the top teams from around the World!

Assembly Required will also be headed to the Florida State Tournament in Jacksonville, Florida, with our new mentee team, Batteries Included!
